White BlackBerry Classic Launched in Hong Kong, 3 New Devices Leaked

BlackBerry will start rolling out its White BlackBerry Classic handset this week, a smartphone it unveiled to the public last December.

The White BlackBerry Classic handset announced in Dec. 14 will available in Hong Kong via authorized distributors by this week, the Canadian smartphone manufacturer announced.

A counterpoint to its Black Classic mobile phone, the White Classic will soon be released in Indonesia, Vietnam, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Italy within the next few weeks.

The phone runs on a Qualcomm MSM8960 Snapdragon chipset powered by a dual-core 1.5 Ghz Krait processor underneath a 3.5-inch touchscreen display. It features the traditional BlackBerry QWERTY keyboard and trackpad, and has 2GB RAM and a 16GM expandable internal memory.

The phone also includes an 8MP rear facing camera and a 2MP front shooter, with a browser touted to be three times faster and a battery the company boasts lasts 50 percent longer.

Apart from the imminent release of its new White BlackBerry Classic, photos of what reportedly are three new devices have been leaked online, one of which features a sliding keyboard.

While BlackBerry had earlier teased a sliding keyboard last year, the new leaked images may have solidified those rumors. Appearing to be a long-ish smartphone, the recently dubbed Venice or BlackBerry Slider, sports full touchscreen display and a keyboard that slides out, all enclosed in a shell with dual curved screen edges.

John Chen, BlackBerry CEO, has also confirmed the development of a tablet. He told Slash Gear they were currently working on the huge challenge of a physical keyboard that also comes with touchscreen capacity.

Other leaked images include what appears to be an update of the BlackBerry Passport, and a distinctively-edged luxury model in the Porsche Design.

No word has yet been released on when these three new devices will launch, or when the Canadian company plans to release them in the market.
