Whitney Houston Biopic: Brandy, Meagan Good Interested in Lead Role
Whitney Houston's biopic has yet to begin production, but actresses like Brandy Norwood and Meagan Good have expressed immense interest in portraying the singer on film.
Norwood, a good friend of Houston's who co-starred with the late singer in the television movie "Cinderella," spoke about a desire to star in her biopic.
"My dream role is to play Whitney Houston. Of course she would have to sing all the songs but I would love to play Miss Whitney," Norwood said in an interview with TrueExclusives.com. "I have her entire personality down pat, her '-isms' down pat. No offense ladies, there's a lot of talented ladies out there but nobody can play Whitney Houston like me."

However, another actress has expressed an interest in taking on the Houston role despite Norwood's desire. Meagan Good, a Christian actress who recently appeared in the movie "Think Like a Man," told Vibe Vixen that Houston was open to seeing a biopic on her life unfold.
"I want to do Whitney Houston's life story. I think that would be an incredible story to do," Good said in an interview before Houston's death. "I talked to Whitney a little bit about it, and she's open to it, so I want to see what happens with that. Hopefully, in the very, very near future."
Good spoke to the publication about why she would do the Houston role justice.

"I'm definitely a Whitney fan, and I have been since I was a little girl. Me and her are both Leos, so we very much vibe out the same way; we understand the same things," Good said. "You know, I'm a Christian first above everything. I don't believe in basing my life on the stars because it says in the Bible not to do that, but I do believe that characteristics of different signs are very true to the person's personality. I definitely understand her."
Although Good said she was aware of other people who were interested in playing Houston, she said the most important thing is assigning the role to an actress who would be received well.
"When they did the Dorothy Dandridge story, Janet [Jackson] wanted to do it, Halle [Berry] wanted to do it and I think Whitney might've wanted to do it too," Good said. "There were quite a few people, and I really think it's just about getting it done. Hopefully, whoever does end up doing it, people will be receptive to that person."
