Whitney Houston Sex Tape Report Sparks Outrage: 'Despicable,' Says Rep

Houston Family: Don't 'Drag Her Legacy Down'

Whitney Houston's family has reportedly been in contact with singer Ray J, begging him to hand over sex tapes and explicit photos of the late songstress, and not release them to the public, destroying Whitney's legacy.

Ray J is reportedly in the possession of various media and memorabilia concerning Whitney from the pair's close friendship and alleged romantic ties. In 2007, a lewd video Ray J made with Kim Kardashian was leaked online, and Houston's family seeks to prevent a similar fate from befalling Whitney's legacy, according to Star magazine.

The Houstons have "been in contact with Ray and told him they do not want any photos or videos painting her in a bad light to come out," an insider told Star magazine. For them, Whitney's untimely death should not be accompanied by bad press.

The Houston family "explained to Ray that now is the time to honor Whitney, not drag her legacy down," said the source.

Ray J, however, may not be so keen on giving the explicit media back to the family, or destroying it as he should. His "stalling" to make a move with the tapes and photos concerns their worth, according to the confidante- technically, the R&B singer is "sitting on a gold mine" of shame.

Since the rumors broke, however, Courtney Barnes, spokesman for Ray J, came out against them, blatantly denying the claims of a sex tape or lewd photos in existence.

"The despicable tabloid report released today claiming the existence of a sex tape between Ray J and Whitney Houston is not true," Barnes told Daily Mail. "There is no sex tape."

Barnes theorized that Star, along with other tabloids, falsely created the story simply to make money, and that Whitney and Ray J had never done any such thing.

"This story along with so many others have been released to sell magazines. There is no sex tape or explicit photos," said Barnes.

The idea of Ray J considering selling a sex tape of Houston for money certainly does raise eyebrows the singer always publicly alleged that the two were close friends, nothing more.

"Our friendship is something that people might not understand, maybe because of the age difference, but we've always just been friends," Ray J told "The Insider" Feb. 10. "We've always kept our relationship as private as we could, but … for the most part, we've always been friends and we've kept everything hush-hush and just quiet."
