"I sang her songs into a hairbrush when I was little. Now she's acting as my mom and scolding me. It was a dream come true," Sparks told People magazine. "She was so cool and very motherly toward me. If I ever looked like I needed something, here she came saying 'Are you okay?'"

Previous reports suggest the Houston had spent her fortune and was depending on others for support. "Whitney's fortune is gone. Music industry heavy hitters are supporting her and her label is fronting her cash against her next album, but no one knows when that will be released," a source told Radaronline.com.

The source also added, "She might be homeless if not for people saving her. She is broke as a joke. She called someone to ask for $100. It is so sad. She should have Mariah Carey money, and she's flat broke," the source added.

However others were not as pessimistic about the stars outlook. A close Houston associate reported to the Chicago Sun that the entertainer was accepting "pretty much any and all" offers these days to get her financial house in order.

"Whitney has always lived large. … She's doing fine with her personal issues, but she's got a long way to go to get back on her feet," the source said, suggesting that Houston is primed for a comeback.

Fans took to CNN's blog to lend support to the actress' comeback, saying that she looked beautiful in the pictures released for her new movie.

One user, Teresa, said she hoped to see much more of Whitney Houston. "I hope she isn't broke. I look forward to more music from her for another 20 yrs. She might be getting older
and her voice might not be what it used to be, but I know she still has 'it' in her. I would love to see and hear more from her!"

Other sources suggest that Houston grossed nearly $34 million for her 2010 tour alone, suggesting that rumors about the actress' financial situation could be completely false.
