A dual U.S.-Israeli citizen and IDF soldier, Itay Chen was on active duty when Hamas terrorists invaded the Gaza border communities.
As The Times of Israel reported in October, Chen was part of a tank unit that included three other soldiers. The last time anyone heard from him was during the early morning hours of Oct. 7.

Chen's family was notified a few days after the assault that Chen was considered missing in action and likely taken hostage by Hamas, according to the outlet.
Ruby Chen, the father of the Israeli soldier, joined several families whose loved ones remain in captivity for the House Foreign Affairs Committee session in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday.
"This is not a U.S. issue. It's an international community humanitarian issue that all of the international community needs to get behind in order to solve this problem," the father said.
