Who Is 'Project Runway' Judge Georgina Chapman? Her Marriage To Harvey Weinstein Is Speculated To Affect Marchesa

Georgina Chapman has been a part of "Project Runway: All Stars" since the show's premiere in 2016, but the fashion designer's life recently became the talk of the town after her husband got involved in a major sexual assault scandal.

Chapman's name is well known in the fashion industry as the co-founder and designer of the high-end women's brand Marchesa. According to reports, she is also a former commercial model for different brands like the Head & Shoulders shampoo as well as the Soothers throat lozenges.

The 41-year-old mother of two established the luxury women's brand in 2004 together with her Chelsea College of Art and Design classmate Keren Craig. Since then, the brand managed to come up with red carpet dresses for some of Hollywood's A-list stars like Sandra Bullock, Emma Watson, Kristen Stewart, Jennifer Hudson, Penelope Cruz, Blake Lively, Halle Berry, Leighton Meester, and Selena Gomez, among others.

Chapman started dating Hollywood producer and film studio executive Harvey Weinstein in December 2004. The couple tied the knot in Connecticut in December 2007, and their union bore a daughter named India Pearl in August 2010 and a son named Dashiell Max Robert in April 2013.

However, Chapman's marriage to Weinstein could threaten the reputation of her fashion brand according to an article from The Hollywood Reporter.

According to the report, it would be hard for the biggest names in Hollywood to work again with Marchesa after Weinstein was accused of sexually harassing a number of women for decades. One of his alleged victims includes actress Ashley Judd who claimed that he tried to have sexual advances with her when she was filming "Kiss the Girls" in 1997.

Another anonymous publicist from Los Angeles claimed that Weinstein was the mastermind behind the Marchesa fashion brand, and Chapman benefitted from her husband's connections in Hollywood. The source also claimed that she knew about Weinstein's behavior and opted not to do anything about it.

Weinstein was currently fired by the board of The Weinstein Company, while Chapman is expected to return to the judges' panel of the next two installments of "Project Runway: All Stars" together with fellow judges Isaac Mizrahi, Zanna Roberts Rassi, and host Alyssa Milano when the fashion reality competition that will air on Lifetime soon.
