Who were the students, teachers killed in the Apalachee High School shooting?
Richard Aspinwall
Aspinwall was a math teacher and defensive coordinator of Apalachee High School's football team, the school's football coach Mike Hancock told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
He was also a married father with two daughters who loved to dote on his wife Shayna and children after each game.
"That smile of him walking over to get the hugs — to get the daddy hugs, man, that's where I'm heartbroken," Hancock said. "He loved being a girl dad, and he loved his wife."
A GoFundMe campaign seeking to raise $200,000 for his family has already attracted more than $183,000 in donations as of Thursday evening.
"We are all in shock over the news that Ricky Aspinwall lost his life protecting his students. Please consider donating to help Shayna Aspinwall with expenses she will have to incur and to make sure her two precious babies are taken care of," the organizer of the fundraiser said in a statement. "I would love to raise enough to provide Shayna the opportunity to stay at home with her girls."
