Why Do I Need Fellowship?
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin. 1 John 1:7
As a Christian, God has given you many good gifts. He's given you so many good things that it's easy to miss out on some. One gift we sometimes forget is fellowship. We don't realize what a wonderful gift it is!
The Bible says, "As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another" (Proverbs 27:17). When we fellowship with other Christians, they make us stronger and better. If we're not careful, many things in life can turn us away from God. We need fellowship with other Christians to keep us strong in Him.
Friends who aren't Christians can sometimes lead you astray. The Bible says, " . . . Bad company corrupts good character" (1 Corinthians 15:33). People who aren't Christians may not do many bad things, but because they don't believe in Jesus Christ, they look at the world in a different way. They depend on money, things and other people to make them happy. As a Christian you know that the Lord Jesus is the true source of happiness.
God knows you need fellowship to be strong as a Christian. Good fellowship with other Christians begins in fellowship with Him. Take time today just to enjoy your friendship with God. Worship Him!
