Why is Pope Francis Carrying a Baby Sheep on His Shoulders? (VIDEO)
Yesterday, Pope Francis marked Epiphany, or Three Kings Day, by making a surprise visit to a live nativity scene outside of Rome. He talked with the over 200 costumed participants, and took in the many animals involved in the reenactment.
At one point, participants hoisted a baby sheep on the Pope's shoulders, making for this one-of-a-kind photo op.
The pontiff also met a 2-month-old boy named Francesco, the star of the show playing baby Jesus.
And that's why Pope Francis was carrying a baby sheep on his shoulders. Here's video of his Epiphany visit.
