'Be the hands and feet of Jesus'

Hughes, who grew up in North Carolina, marched to send the message that "the work isn't finished yet."

"There's still work we have to do in the legislative battles in the states and the federal level. There's still work that we have to do to provide care for women and for unborn babies and born babies who need the care and need the support, need the help."

"We're here to help send the message that Liberty University is a school that stands for life, that stands for the pro-life movement, and stands for these goals and these objectives to see change happen both societally and legislatively and make sure that we live in a society in which abortion's considered unthinkable."

Huseman rejected the argument that "Christians shouldn't be involved politically," asserting that "the pro-life movement needs Christians to stand up and be the hands and feet of Jesus." 

"You can be a Christian and involved politically," Huseman said. "And now more than ever, it's more important that the Church is very active with helping these young moms choose life and be open from the pulpit about why God values each and every life because they are made in the image of God."
