Wii U Games by Super Mario and Sonic the Hedgehog Could Bring Nintendo Back
Super Mario and Sonic the Hedgehog will be leading the charge of the Wii U's resurgence this upcoming holiday season.
The pair will be in a combined six games that are coming to Nintendo consoles, whether it be the Wii U or the 3DS.
The first release will be on Nov. 22 with Super Mario 3D World, which is a follow up to Super Mario 3D Land.
The game will feature a new style of game play, utilizing for the first time, a 2D style of plat-forming play, but in 3D. Also introduced will be the cat suit, which allows players to climb walls.
3D World will also bring back Princess Peach and Toad as playable characters in a main Mario game since Super Mario Bros 2 for NES.
Mario will also be found in Mario Kart 8, set for release in April 2014, and in Super Smash Bros 4, coming early 2014.
You can also catch Mario with his buddy/rival, Sonic the Hedgehog, in both Smash Bros 4 and Mario and Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games. This game is reported to be released on Nov. 15.
In this long-running series, characters from Mario's world and Sonic's world face off against each other for Olympic superiority.
The blue blur's own game, Sonic Lost World, will be arriving Oct. 29, and and is said to have similar play to Mario Galaxy.
The Sonic franchise has been suffering a bit over the last decade as the Sega Team has produced many more flops than quality games. In recent years they have tried to made Sonic do way too much and involved him with swords, human girlfriends, and even turned him into a Werehog.
This game supposedly builds off of Sonic Colors and continues into the right direction as far as fluid no-gimmick gameplay.
The Wii U is on the rise as its competitors launch date creeps closer. Mario and Sonic are just the tip of the iceberg for what Nintendo has in store.
