WikiLeaks Founder to Host TV Show
WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange is getting ready for his own TV show.
Assange will host a show which will spotlight "in-depth conversations with key political players, thinkers and revolutionaries from around the world," according to a press release from the WikiLeaks founder.
The title of the show has not been decided on yet, but as stated in the press release the theme will be "the world tomorrow."
"This is an exciting opportunity to discuss the vision of my guests in a new style of show that examines their philosophies and struggles in a deeper and clearer way than has been done before," Assange said.
Assange said the reason for this show is due to the fact that "at this pivotal moment there is an awareness of the need to radically rethink the world around us."
The show, which is scheduled to premiere sometime around mid-March, "will draw together controversial voices from across the political spectrum- iconoclasts, visionaries and power insiders- each to offer a window on the world tomorrow and their ideas on how to secure a brighter future," WikiLeaks said.
Assange also mentions one of the questions to be raised by the show: "Are we heading towards utopia, or dystopia and how we can set our paths?"
The series, which will consist of 10 weekly half-hour episodes, has reportedly already secured licensing agreements across cable, satellite and terrestrial broadcast networks, which will cover more than 600 million viewers, according to WikiLeaks.
"Through this series I will explore the possibilities for our future in conversations with those who are shaping it," he said in the statement.
The WikiLeaks founder is still fighting extradition from the U.K. to Sweden on allegations of sexual assault.
Assange could also face espionage charges in the America after revelations in the case of Pvt. Bradley Manning last month revealed evidence of the WikiLeaks boss' alleged role in stealing secret military documents.
