Will and Jada Pinkett-Smith Divorce Rumors Are Just One of Many
Although rumors of Will and Jada Pinkett-Smith’s separation did not prove to be true on Tuesday, other high profile couples suffered a lesser fate this summer.
In July, singers Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony officially announced that they would separate.
'”We have decided to end our marriage. This was a very difficult decision,” the couple told People in a joint statement last month. “We have come to amicable conclusions on all matters. It is a painful time for all involved, and we appreciate the respect of our privacy at this time.”
The couple was married in 2004 in Beverly Hills and birthed two children, 3-year-old twins Max and Emme.
Also George Clooney, Lopez’s love interest in her 1998 movie “Out of Sight”, split from his girlfriend this summer.
After two years, Clooney and Elisabetta Canalis announced their split in June.
“We are not together anymore,” the Hollywood Life reported the joint statement as reading. “It’s very difficult and very personal and we hope everyone can respect our privacy.”
Although some of the biggest names in Hollywood are splitting this summer, global couples are suffering from the same issue. Pippa Middleton announced a spit from her boyfriend, Alex Loudon in June.
A source told The Sun publication that the two are moving in starkly different directions following the attention she gained when her sister married.
'They're moving in different circles,” the source said, according to The Sun.
Although many couples in entertainment do not stand the test of time, Will and Jada have proved that they are working towards doing so. In the midst of the rumors that were sparked by talk of Will and Jada’s separation, Smiths’ eldest son tweeted about the false statements concerning his father and stepmother.
“Did #WillandJada split? No they did NOT split ! False information ..its not true RETWEET!!!” Trey wrote. “Will and Jada getting a DIVORCE ..NOT TRUE AT ALL !! RETWEET”
