Will and Jada Smith Are Not Separating, Says Close Friend
Early today, the magazine In Touch Weekly reported that the Hollywood power couple Will Smith and Jada Pinkett were separating. The magazine claims to have gotten the news via an “insider.”
However, US Weekly has now reported that another insider, a pal close to the couple, has come out to refute the rumors.
The friend of the Smith’s told US Weekly the rumors are, “100 percent not true…It’s total bulls***.”
Publicists for both stars have yet to confirm if the separation is true or false but Jada’s publicist had been reached by TMZ and reportedly stated, “What? In Touch said that? I know nothing about this … Lord. I’m going back to bed.”
The rumors have surfaced only a month after the couple opened their home to pose for a family photo shoot for the magazine Architectural Digest.
The couple seemed happy and Smith told the magazine that the layout of the home was designed with no dead ends so as to “create an infinite cycle that represented what Jada and I hoped for our love.”
The couple met on the set of Smith’s hit show “The Fresh Prince of Bel Air.” They married in 1997 and have two children that are both pursuing the limelight.
Daughter Willow is a singer and actress, while son Jaden is a songwriter, rapper, actor, and dancer that has been most noted for his role in the popular “Karate Kid.”
If the report turns out to be true, it would go against both of the actor’s statements about marriage.
In 2009, Jada told the Q100 Atlanta radio station in interview, “I’ve heard all the things – their marriage is not real, he’s gay, she’s gay, they swing. But at the end of the day, people have to believe what they have to believe. I’ll tell you what, it’s too hard to be in a pretend marriage. Life’s too short for that one.”
