Will and Jada Smith Divorce? Carlton Banks Reveals They're 'All Good'
With rumors of an impending break-up and eventual divorce surrounding Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith, the couple have received support from a familiar face. Will Smith's "Fresh Prince of Bel Air" co-star Alfonso Ribeiro, aka Carlton Banks, spoke to TMZ Wednesday night as he left a restaurant, and confirmed that the couple is "all good."
Ribeiro confirmed he had heard the rumors making the rounds in the press about Will and Jada separating. However, when TMZ asked whether he thought they could work out their marriage problems, Ribeiro said, "Who said they were having problems?"
"They're not getting a divorce, they're all good.”
In an effort to smash the rumors, Will and Jada released a joint statement earlier this week saying that they are definitely not separating, and that the rumors were entirely false.
"Although we are reluctant to respond to these types of press reports, the rumors circulating about our relationship are completely false. We are still together, and our marriage is intact," they said in the statement.
The couple's sons, Trey and Jaden have also taken to Twitter to state that any rumors their parents having marriage troubles are not true.
The couple was spotted in Malibu having breakfast at Bob Morris' Beach Cafe on Wednesday. Reports from TMZ say that they were "happy and normal."
Smith and Ribeiro played cousins Will Smith and Carlton Banks respectively on the 90's hit sitcom "Fresh Prince of Bel Air."
Smith also met Pinkett Smith on the set of "Fresh Prince," when she auditioned to play the role of Will Smith's girlfriend. Ironically she was not offered the part because of her height; producers thought she was too short for the lofty Will Smith.
Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith married on New Year's Eve, 1997 and have been married for the past 13 years.
