Will and Jada Smith Split, Earthquake Hits Virginia, Winehouse Drug-Free - America in Disbelief

With rumors that Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith have separated, and an earthquake striking the normally tremor-free East coast of America on Tuesday, the country does not know quite what to believe anymore.

Adding to all this the breaking news on Tuesday that late singer Amy Winehouse’s toxicology tests showed absolutely no signs of drugs in her system at the time of her death, and the disbelief in the day’s news seems to grow.

One Twitter user has said, “Will and Jada have split and Amy Winehouse wasn’t doing illegal drugs – I just don’t know what to believe anymore.”

Another Twitter user, Monroe, wrote, “Just woke up and I don’t know what’s more shocking, the fact that I slept through an earthquake or Will and Jada’s breakup?!”

“Will and Jada divorce and an earth quake. The world’s ending,” tweeted Elvira.

The Smith celebrity couple has been married 13 years, and although their publicists have not confirmed the rumors, talk about their alleged separation has shocked the nation.

Will Smith was quoted telling MTV News in 2006, “Divorce can’t be an option. With Jada, I stood up in front of God and said, ‘Til death do us part.’ So there are two possible outcomes. One, we are going to be together till death, or two, I am dead.”

Married in 1997, Will and Jada Smith have been named as one of few shining examples of solid relationships to have come out of Hollywood.

Just last month, the couple’s Calabasas, California home was featured in Architectural Digest magazine. The magazine reported Will explaining that the circular floor plan in the house was to “create an infinite cycle that represented what Jada and I hoped for our love.”

News this week confirmed that Will Smith will be returning to the rap scene, and has been reported spending time back in the studio working on a new album.

His film, “Men in Black III,” is scheduled to premiere on May of next year.
