Will Smith Reportedly Separating from Wife Jada Pinkett Smith, Set for Rap Return
After nearly 14-years of marriage, rapper and former "Prince of Bel Air," Will Smith is reportedly set to separate from his wife Jada Pinkett Smith.
The magazine In Touch Weekly has reported the news that it claims it received via a Smith “insider.” However, publicists for both stars have yet to confirm if the separation report is true.
The rumors have surfaced only a month after the couple opened their home to the magazine Architectural Digest to discuss the layout of their home and pose for a family photo shoot.
Smith told the magazine that the architectural layout of the home was designed with no dead ends so as to “create an infinite cycle that represented what Jada and I hoped for our love.”
The couple met on the set of Smith’s hit show “The Fresh Prince of Bel Air.” They married in 1997 and have two children that are both pursuing a career in the limelight.
Daughter Willow is a singer and actress while son Jaden is a songwriter, rapper, actor, and dancer who has been most noted for his role in the popular “Karate Kid.”
If the report turns out to be true, it would go against Smith’s statements to MTV in 2006 in which he said, “Divorce can’t be an option. With Jada, I stood up in front of God and said, ‘Til death do us part.’ So there are two possible outcomes. One, we are going to be together till death, or two, I am dead.”
Meanwhile, in confirmed news, Will Smith is set to return to his musical roots. It has been reported and confirmed that Smith has been spending time working in the studio on a new rap album.
Producer La Mar “Mars” Edwards told XXL, “We’re working on Will Smith, bringing him back.”
Smith’s last single came out in 2005, and was related to his film, “Hitch.”
However, people are speculating that a new album by Smith is likely to coincide with his new much-anticipated “Men in Black III” film that is set for release in May of next year.
