William Apps Murdered While Selling Truck on Craigslist
William Apps was murdered last Thursday in Mount Pleasant, S.C. after meeting two men to sell his 2006 Chevrolet truck on Craigslist. The two suspects, Jquan Margel Scott, 19, and Isaac Romell Williams, 20, were arrested in connection with the killing and later led police to Apps' dumped body.
William Apps, 25, was received confirmation from Scott and Williams to purchase the truck for $15,000, court documents filed Tuesday said. However, after meeting the two men at a downtown Charleston Hardee's, he informed his mother, who had come along in a separate vehicle, that the sale would not happen.
"The victim advised her to go on and that the sale was not going to occur at that time," Sheriff Al Cannon said at a press conference. "That he was going to take the two individuals back to their home."

On the way to Mount Pleasant, the men forced Apps out of his truck at gunpoint, then back in to the front passenger seat. He died from a gunshot wound to the head, the Charleston County Coroner's Office said.
Scott took the truck to visit friends at a party Friday before coming back to Charleston.
After multiple calls to the police regarding Apps' disappearance, authorities tracked down Scott Sunday, who had been using the deceased man's debit card to purchase food, sneakers and gas in the Bluffton area, according to the Associated Press. Initially, Scott lied, saying he purchased the truck, but didn't have the title- the possession of Apps' debit card was collateral, he explained.
Scott also tried to blame the killing on two other unnamed men, but after failing to explain himself properly, admitted to murdering Apps. He then led authorities to the man's body, which he and Williams had dumped in a wooded area in Mount Pleasant, Cannon told reporters.
Scott was charged with murder, kidnapping, armed robbery and possession of a firearm in the commission of a violent crime. Williams was charged with murder and kidnapping. Both of them were denied bail Tuesday.
