Wladimir Klitschko Next Fight News: Reigning heavyweight champion says bout with Tyson Fury will be 'one of the hardest in his career'
Long-time world heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko believes his next assignment against Tyson Fury will be his toughest one to date.
The two men will meet inside the ring on November 28th, where Klitschko will be putting his WBO, WBA, and IBO, IBF and Ring Magazine titles on the line. And with still three weeks until fight night, "Dr. Steelhammer" is already preparing for what he describes as "one of the toughest fights" of his 19-year professional career.
"I think this will be one of the hardest fights of my career," Klitschko said in a report by Boxingscene.com. "This time the opponent will be taller, heavier, with very long arms, and he is also younger and has great ambitions."
"This guy really wants to prove himself in the ring and confirm what he keeps telling everyone, that he's the best in the world," he adds.
In another report by BBC, the 39-year old Klitschko also revealed his possible retirement plans after facing Fury. The fight was originally scheduled in October, but was postponed after Klitschko suffered a calf injury.
"After this fight I won't have anything else to achieve and I'm on to a new part of my life. If I've not got the motivation to carry on anymore then what would be the point?"
Holding an undefeated record of 24-0 (with 18 victories by knockout), the 27-year old Fury has won four of his last five fights by stoppage. He last saw action inside the boxing ring in February, against Romania's Christian Hammer. Fury won the fight by eighth round stoppage.
In September, during the pre-fight press conference for the original October 24th date, Fury appeared wearing a batman costume mocking Klitschko, stating: "This is a fool, just like you are."
The fight is scheduled to take place at the Esprit Arena in Dusseldorf, Germany.
