Wladimir Klitschko Vs. Tyson Fury Fight News: Fury Claims Klitschko And Team Knew They Would Lose Even Before The Fight

Newly crowned WBA, IBF, and WBO world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury claims his opponent Wladimir Klitschko knew beforehand that the title would be changing hands on Saturday night.

Fury outpointed "Dr. Steelhammer" during their fight in Dusseldorf, Germany, garnering a unanimous decision tally from all three judges (115-112, 115-112, 116-111). The British fighter's victory marked the end of Klitschko's nine-year reign as world heavyweight champion. But according to Fury, his opponent and the entire team that backed him up knew all along that they would be defeated.

"I always said what I'd do and I've delivered tonight. I didn't have this confidence for nothing," Fury said in his interview with BBC 5 Live (via Boxingscene). "I knew I could come here and upset the apple cart."

In the same interview, Fury also says, "I knew all along I could win the fight. Wladimir knew, his full team knew tonight."

Fury adds that he saw tell-tale signs during their pre-fight stare off that Klitschko was already defeated even then.

"I saw in his eyes tonight he was going to lose the fight and he saw the new, hungry champion in me," he adds. "I never took my eyes off him during the stare-off.

Fury adds that he was not at all fazed by the crowd in attendance, as he already knew beforehand that he will be having his hand raised afterwards, with all the title belts on the line being bestowed upon him.

Right after the fight, Klitschko declared his intent to exercise his rematch clause with Fury. The new heavyweight king does not disagree, and even hopes that if and when their second encounter happens, it would take place in Germany again, where he says he felt the love from the locals.

In another report by Boxingscene, Fury said that given the opportunity to fight Wladimir again, he would like to go back to Germany for the match as he enjoyed the last one. He said, "I got a great reception from the German fans. The German people really did show me some love, and I just hope I entertained."
