'Wolverine 3' Release Date, Spoilers: Final Credits May Feature Hugh Jackman's Wolverine One Last Time

"Logan" is just around the corner and fans are already dying to know if its final credits will offer a glimpse of Huge Jackman's Wolverine one last time. Speculations about what the final credits will feature came after a Twitter post confirmed a three-minute post-credits scene added to the runtime of the movie.

On Twitter, Alamo Draft House theater chain senior marketing and promotions manager Mike Sampson said, "Let the secret post-credits scene speculation begin: Fox just updated LOGAN runtime to 3 minutes longer than version screened this week."

Early screenings of the Wolverine film did not feature a post-credits scene. That is why fans were surprised when Sampson announced that viewers can expect a final stinger to be included when the film arrives in cinemas next month.

According to Digital Spy, it is especially difficult to tell what to expect from the post-credits scene because the tone of the movie is perfectly natural and its ending is fine even without the extra scene. Fans who got to watch the early screening revealed that while the ending was deeply moving, poignant and tragic, it felt final.

There are speculations that director James Mangold may have something explosive for fans before he closes the "Wolverine" book for good but that remains to be seen.

"Logan" is set in the near future, where mutants are pushed to the brink of extinction. The film will see the reunion of Logan (Jackman) and Professor X (Patrick Stewart) for the last time as they hit the road to protect Laura (Dafne Keen) from the cyborgs chasing her.

Aside from Jackman, Stewart and Keen, also joining the cast are Richard Grant, Boyd Holbrook, Stephen Merchant, Eriq La Salle and Elise Neal.

"Logan" hits U.K. theaters on March 1 and U.S. theaters on March 3.
