Woman Arrested With 'GOD' Forehead Tattoo: What Does Scripture Say?
Jamie Calloway, 33, has been arrested and charged with stalking. Authorities were able to easily identify Calloway because of the "God" tattoo on her forehead.
Calloway has a number of tattoos, but the one that stands out the most is the word God in all capitals across her forehead. According to authorities, she "took a liking to" a female corrections officer during a jail term. Since then, she has slashed the officer's tires, sent her packages, and called her home, authorities state.
She has an active online profile, with a Facebook account as well as several YouTube videos. In one, Calloway identifies herself as "Jamie Godhead Platinum-Godologist of Godology."
Authorities, however, identify her with a number of crimes, including possession, obstruction of justice, criminal damage, theft, domestic violence, and stalking. Calloway is currently being held on $10,000 bond, though she will most likely not be released.
Several people share Calloway's affinity for tattoos and many even have the exact same "God" tattoo she has. One inmate's mugshot features the phrase "God loves you" in bold letters on the top of his head, while another features a dollar bill across his throat.
People have reacted with humor to Calloway's tattoo and arrest.
"Do you think she is making her parents proud? Some great tattoo mugshots… got to see them!" tweeted Mark Stine.
Even the Huffington Post is getting in on the joke.
"Woman with 'God' on her mind gets arrested," the Post tweeted.
Others, however, have quoted the Bible, noting that Leviticus 19:28 states: "You shall not make any cuts on your body for the dead or tattoo yourselves: I am the Lord."
Tattoos have been around as long as humanity has, though different Christians seem to disagree on whether they are acceptable. Some Christians come inked, while others prefer not to.
