Woman in Black Trailer Released as Harry Potter Fans Anticipate Radcliffe Blockbuster (VIDEO)
"The Woman in Black," London's second longest-running play, which has been turned into a movie starring Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe, has had its trailer released to eagerly awaiting fans.
The story, one of the most popular theater productions over the past two decades, second only to “The Mousetrap,” originally comes from a 1983 novel by Susan Hill.
The story is about a solicitor who is called to a spooky mansion in the England countryside. He plans to settle the affairs of the recently deceased widow who lived there previously.
However, soon after his arrival things turn creepy as he hears noises, sees visions, and slowly comes to learn about the “Woman in Black.”
The original theatrical adaptation was written by Stephen Mallatratt and was first launched in London’s West End theater land all the way back in 1989. The story is famous as it only has two on stage cast members for its entire performance.
The theater production’s popularity has now spurned a feature length movie, which has been directed by James Watkins. The movie may surprise some “Woman in Black” fans as it does expand on the theater show quite significantly, and is sure to receive its share of critics when released in February 2012.
