Woman 'Tormented by Demons' Found Guilty of Murdering 1-Year-Old Son, Compares Herself to Job and David
Chloe Menager allegedly held her 1-year-old son underwater in the bathtub until he drowned in 2012. She has now been found guilty of his murder and faces a lifetime behind bars if a judge so decides. During the trial, Menager spoke of being tormented by demons, though she never said that was her reason for committing the murder.
Two years ago, Pablo Perez flagged down Dallas, Texas officers to get help for his son, who had drowned in the bathtub. When they arrived, they reportedly found Menager in wet, blood-stained clothes and crying into a cellphone.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry, my baby," Menager said.

She later told police that she had held her son Elijahu underwater until he drowned. She also tried to kill herself by slashing her wrist with a dull knife. At the police station, Menager provided more details as to what happened and possibly why she did what she did.
"It's kind of like that but I can't say it that way because it's really hard, and it's hard to explain because people are not going to want to understand," Menager told Fox News. She mentioned that she had been tormented by demons but held onto her deep Jewish faith, even when she didn't expect anyone to understand.
"I know that people that I know and people that understand all those teachings, I know they are going to understand," Menager added.
She was initially placed on suicide watch due to the cuts on her wrist, but later released into general population. At her hearing, she compared herself to the biblical figures of Job and David, who went through various trials and became closer to God.
"This is my trial and I have to go through this," Menager said. "But I really don't want people to blame it on my religion. I know it sounds crazy to a nonreligious person. If someone tries to follow all the [biblical] laws, if you don't do it the right way, or if you're a little bit rebellious, 'I'm not going to do this because I don't want to,' or 'I'm not going to church today,' or little things like that, they'll open doors to demons to torment you. It's not anybody's fault. Don't blame it on the religion. It just has to do with me."
Now that she has been found guilty, Menager faces a lifetime sentence in prison.
