'Wonder Woman' Movie News: DC's CinemaCon Presentation Confirms Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman Still Deflects Bullets with Her Bracelets
Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman bracelets are still capable of deflecting bullets after all. This has been confirmed by i09 Gizmodo after it reported of Warner Bros.' CinemaCon presentation that teased the slate of the upcoming DC movies, including "Wonder Woman."
According to the report, Warner Bros.' presentation ran for almost 15 minutes, and 30 seconds of which cast the spotlight on Gal Gadot's "Wonder Woman." The footage, which included snippets from the still showing "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," the upcoming "Suicide Squad," and many other DC films in the can, showed Wonder Woman riding a horse, fighting a group of soldiers, and deflecting bullets using her bracelets.
With i09 Gizmodo's report, fans of the Amazonian Warrior Princess can now rest assured that Gal Gadot's version of Wonder Woman does not veer away from her original version, which trademarks her bullet-deflecting ability as one of her superpowers. While it is true that this generation's version of the character was already seen "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," fans were not certain if her bracelets still had the ability to deflect bullets as she uses her shield to absorb the flashy energy thrown by Doomsday in the said movie.
Originally, the female superhero was identified with a costume that gathers the elements from the American flag: star-spangled shorts, red spandex tube top with an eagle-breastplate, red and white pair of boots, a gold tiara with a red star pentagon, a pair of bracelets that deflect bullets, and a magic lasso as her weapon.
However, Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman introduces lots of changes about the character, especially her costume. Instead of having an eagle breastplate affixed to her red tube top, the Amazonian warrior princess now wears a full metal armor top. A leather gladiator skirt has also replaced the star-spangled shorts without the stars. Her pleather red and white boots have also been thrown away as she now wears a pair of red and gold metal boots. The star pentagon on her tiara has also been replaced with a Star of Bethlehem. Additionally, she now wields a sword and a shield in addition to her magic lasso.
With the many changes happening to Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman, fans can now breathe that the character they have loved for a long time already still maintains her iconic ability to deflect bullets using her pair of bracelets. To a certain extent, it anchors the character to how her fans have known her for.
"Wonder Woman" hits the theaters on June 2, 2017.
