'Wonder Woman' Movie News: 'Hippolyta's' Instagram Post Causes Curiosity

The latest Instagram post of actress Connie Nielsen has gotten Wonder Woman fans curious with some even speculating that Gal Gadot's "Wonder Woman" movie may feature the Amazonian warrior princess having an unusual sidekick.

While Nielsen didn't say anything about the photo, which is nothing more than an image of a tiger, some fans started speculating that the earlier rumor that Gadot's version of Wonder Woman may feature the character as having a tiger as a sidekick. According to Movie Web, this isn't the first time for the "Wonder Woman" movie to be rumored to include a tiger in the movie as in the past months, it was already alleged that the original director of the movie, Michelle MacLaren, wanted to include the animal in the first big-screen solo film adaptation of the DC superhero character.

After McLaren left the production due to creative differences, the movie's current director, Patty Jenkins, stepped in, and, as rumor has it, she has agreed to include the animal in the movie, indeed. However, according to Screen Rant, it is unlikely for the animal to serve as Wonder Woman's sidekick. Rather, it is likely that the animal will be used to highlight one of Wonder Woman's lesser known powers, which is the ability to tame even the wildest animals. It is also suspected that the animal may not be tied to Wonder Woman's character exclusively as it was Nielesen herself who posted the photo, which may mean that the animal may respond to her will as Queen Hippolyta, Wonder Woman's mother.

Pundits also claim that the animal may only appear at the scenes involving Themyscira, otherwise known as Paradise Island, as it may not be sensible for the Amazonian warrior princess to have it in tow as she displays her Amazonian might and power in the 1920s, the predominant time setting of the film.

As to what the relevance of Nielsen's tiger photo to the "Wonder Woman" movie, fans can only speculate at this point in time. If it's of any consolation to the fans, at least, they know that the long-overdue solo big screen live action feature of the most famous female superhero is fast taking shape and may surprise them in more ways than one when it hits the theaters on June 2, 2017.
