The DC comic series has portrayed several mythical adventures of Wonder Woman that feature these two villains. As for Ares, it was revealed that he will be preparing an army of demonic creatures. He will be using these creatures to fight with Wonder Woman, alongside Circe. It was speculated that the two villains will most likely resemble the characters from the comic book, while still incorporating ideas for the original Greek mythology. The two characters have been speculated to be played by two popular actors, Sean Bean as Ares, and Eva Green as Circe.

Apart from the villains, the setting for the movie has also been revealed. It was said that the film will contain two time periods, World War I and the present time. With that, it is expected that Wonder Woman will evolve with these times as she battles Ares and Circe.

However, Wonder Woman will not be alone during these battles. It was speculated that Steve Trevor, played by Chris Pine, will be helping Gal Gadot's character fight off the villains during present time. Unfortunately, there has not been much detail explaining what Steve Trevor's role for the film is.
