'Wonder Woman' Movie Update: Steve Trevor 'Arrives' In Themyscira

The latest leaked photos from the set of Gal Gadot's "Wonder Woman" film reveals that Chris Pine's Steve Trevor character has already arrived in Themyscira, Wonder Woman's paradise homeland. The photos also seem to suggest that filming of the movie has already moved to Italy from London.

In the comic book incarnation of Wonder Woman, Steve Trevor lands in Paradise Island after his plane crashed to Diana's, aka Wonder Woman, home island nation, which is concealed to the humans. Diana pulls Steve Trevor out of the sea as she sees him floating and unconscious following the crash.

When Wonder Woman was re-launched as a comic book character in 1987, Paradise Island was renamed Themyscira, based on the mythological city in the Greek mythology.

However, the leaked set photos don't only show Steve Trevor landing in Themyscira alone as an army of other World War 1 soldiers is also seen in the photos. Diana's Amazonian sisters riding their respective horses as the soldiers take aim at them are also seen in some photos.

In February, the filming of "Wonder Woman" was done in London and even had the Trafalgar Square closed for the shoot. Leaked photos taken at the set showed Diana Prince garbed in early 1900s attire and joined by Etta Candy, a character played by Lucy Davis.

Gal Gadot's portrayal of Wonder Woman heaped praises from moviegoers who watched the current blockbuster "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice." Critics and fans alike have dubbed her as the show stealer, even sending the audience to cheer and lift themselves from their seats when she entered the movie garbed in her Amazonian warrior princess costume.

"Wonder Woman" is slated for a June 23, 2017 release. Despite the character having been around for more than 75 years already, the upcoming Gal Gadot starrer is the first-ever big screen feature of Wonder Woman. Lynda Carter's hit "Wonder Woman" TV series that ran on ABC from 1975 to 1979 was the last live-action feature of the DC character.
