Recently elected U.K. Prime Minister Liz Truss, who once advocated for the abolition of the British monarchy, posted an official statement on Twitter about the death of the queen.
“Queen Elizabeth II was the rock on which modern Britain was built. Our country has grown and flourished under her reign,” wrote Truss.
