'World of Warcraft: Legion' Is A Massive Expansion With New Zones, Mages & New Hero Class
Blizzard has announced the sixth expansion "World of Warcraft: Legion" for its hugely popular MMORPG and it has been revealed that fan favourite Illidan the Betrayer will return to the Burning Legion.
During BlizzCon, Blizzard's annual event, the company revealed a trailer for the expansion, "World of Warcraft: Legion," that features King Varian Wrynn writing a letter and thinking about the future. Lady Sylvanas Windrunner is also seen in the trailer when the Burning Legion attacks the King's ship.
The trailer shows a team-up between the Alliances led by King Varian Wrynn and the Horde.
As per the trailer, the expansion is the Broken Isles and it will give equal footage to the Alliance and the Horde who will unite for the mission to the tomb of Sargeras on the Broken Isles.
"World of Warcraft: Legion" takes inspiration from "Warcraft III" and gets back a new Hero Class called the Demon Hunter that is based on the character of Illidan Stormrage from "Warcraft III."
The Demon Hunters will prove to be a formidable foe for the Burning Legion as they can change forms and create a bond with their Artifacts. These Artifacts are specific weapons that grow in power and strength as the players take on more powerful enemies in the Burning Legion.
The Demon Hunter starts at Level 98 and players can choose to be a tank or a damage dealer.
The new class of Mages is also being introduced. Mages are very different from the other classes that have been in the game so far. Mages are superior to most classes and the three primary Mages are Arcane, Fire, and Frost Mages.
There is a lot of differentiation amongst the Mages too as their schools of magic are different.
Arcane Mages deal with time magic and have the ability to warp time and space and can time travel. They also control the flow of 'mana' through the ages.
Fire Mages are destructive by nature and like the character of Fire, they spread chaos.
Frost Mages are the opposite of Fire Mages. They can take control by slowing down and freezing over situations. Then they attack using their magic strikes.
With all these in one expansion, the sixth expansion, "World of Warcraft: Legion" will be the largest in the franchise till date and the standard edition of the expansion is priced at $49.99. whereas the digital deluxe edition will cost $69.99.
