'World of Warcraft: Legion' Release Date and News: New Honor System in PvP
Fans of the long-running franchise "World of Warcraft" will see everything new in "Legion" as Blizzard is planning to completely overhaul PvP in the upcoming game.
This means that players will see changes in PvP seasons, some scenery, earning gear, and the Honor System.
According to Battle, the new game won't allow players to buy gear from vendors using Honor and Conquest. Blizzard has come up with a whole new system that will open doors for those characters who have eventually reached maximum level to earn Honor Points. These points are obtained from competing with other players. The new process should be very similar to the Experience Points that lower-level players earn.
While this will sound somewhat surprising since it means equipment won't contribute a lot to a character's strength in PvP, players will realize that it will all be worth it since in the process of earning Honor Points, a number of rewards are provided including Gold, Artifact Power, and new set of Honor Talents exclusively available in PvP.
The Honor Talents can only be unlocked one at a time, and while they become available as the Honor Level goes up, the options to choose from grow more and more vast.
Whatever Talents a player chooses will always have an impact on the character's gameplay, which will be significant in exploring one's abilities in various PvP content.
One thing to note, though, is getting into a PvP instance will eradicate all stats on a player's gear, but a predetermined set of stats will automatically be given. Players shouldn't be very worried about the nullified stats since the new stats have all been configured to fit the player's specialization.
The equipment's contribution to one's overall power is very small, but it is seen as an advantage in specialization aspects such as balancing PvP specific content when a certain feature is too strong or too weak.
"World of Warcraft: Legion" is expected to release in 3Q 2016.
