World Report: Pakistan Aid, Syria Christian, Boko Haram, Sage Stallone
America's 1.1. billion dollars in aid to Pakistan could be in jeopardy. It's over Shakil Afridi, the Pakistani doctor jailed in that country for helping the CIA track Osama bin Laden. US Senator Rand Paul claims to have enough support to force a vote on the Senate floor later this month on a bill stripping Pakistan of U.S. aid unless Afridi is released. Congressional leaders oppose Paul's vote and are moving ahead anyway with the 1.1 billion dollars in aid to Pakistan, stalled since last fall because of a US-Pakistan dispute over shuttered supply lines into Afghanistan.
The Canadian government will appeal a landmark BC Supreme Court ruling to strike down the country's ban on patient assisted suicide. The ruling called the ban unconstitutional and gave the federal government a year to rewrite it. Judge Lynn Smith then granted exemption to the law to allow Gloria taylor her right to die with a doctors help. Taylor has ALS. Federal Justice Minister Rob Nicholson issEed a statement saying the government intends to seek a stay on all aspects of the ruling. Nicholson said the law has to protect people and his government now has nothing more to say while the issue is before the court again.
Meanwhile…..Christians in the besieged city of Homs were evacuated with the help of a Greek Orthodox priest . For weeks Christians have been trapped in the crossfire without enough food, water and supplies. Christians make up ten percent of the population in Syria and they also been subject to an ethnic cleansing by opposition forces.
A Nigerian pastor is blaming the country's weak government for the Islamist sect Boko Haram's continuous attacks against Christians. Christians are being attacked and killed virtually every week and Pastor Ayo Orit-sejafor, president of the Christian Association of Nigeria has now called on the United States to officially declare the group a terrorist organization.

The 36-year-old son of actor Sylvester Stallone was found dead in his Los Angeles home by his housekeeper. LA police and the corner are still investigating but no foul play is suspected. Sage Stallone was the oldest of Sylvester Stallone's children and co-starred with his father in two films.
