World Series Parade for the Houston Astros Happening Nov. 3

After bagging their first World Series title this week, the Houston Astros are celebrating their victory with a massive party. In honor of their historic win, the team is heading to Houston and holding a parade that will encompass the areas in and around Lamar.

The Houston Astros' historic win happened on Wednesday night, when they defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers and completed a seven-game classic, capping the series with a score of 5-1. To commemorate their victory, the team is holding a huge parade towards the city hall on Nov. 3, which will be followed by a party.

Following the team's victory, Houston Astros' ABC affiliate announced that the World Series parade would start at 2 p.m. CST at the intersection of Smith and Lamar. An hour before the event, city workers will begin closing down the streets to give way to the Astros.

In a separate statement, Houston mayor Sylvester Turner said, "It's a true privilege to proudly host this magnificent salute to our hometown team that has earned history. As we bounce back from Hurricane Harvey, we are more than ready to welcome our heroes home in proper form."

Over on Twitter, KHOU 11 Sports revealed on Thursday that the parade route would start in Lamar, then Smith, Walker, Milam, Pease, Smith, and back to Lamar, encompassing a rectangle around the downtown area before ending the parade where it started. After the parade, the city hall will reportedly host an after-party for the team to celebrate their victory. This party will be attended by the Astros players, coaches, staff, their families, and many other Houston dignitaries.

Aside from the Houston Astros bagging its first World Series championship, the celebration is also for outfielder George Springer, who was named the World Series MVP after hitting five home runs and knocking in seven RBIs throughout the series.
