'World War Z 2' news: Release date revealed

After a successful first movie, the franchise of "World War Z" is expected to come out with a sequel with Brad Pitt reprising his role. The release date for "World War Z 2" has been revealed.

The previously released movie World War Z featured Brad Pitt as a UN investigator named Gerry Lane. It was reported that the movie will see a sequel written by Steven Knight, who had already revealed the first draft of World War Z 2. With that, it is confirmed that the movie is a go. However, Knight did not share much about what fans can expect from the second movie. Nevertheless, he did explain the highlights of the first movie. He stated that he enjoyed the first film as it was in constant motion, as well as self-explanatory. It portrayed the effect of a zombie apocalypse to the human race.
He said, "I think the beauty of the first film was the way that it never paused for breath. It never spent a moment thinking, 'Hang on a minute, we'd better tell the audience what this is all about.' It stayed in the moment, it stayed with that person."

Knight hinted that the sequel will portray a different vibe compared to the last one. He did share that he does not plan to pick up where the previous film left off. However, nothing else has been revealed concerning the plot and potential cast members of the movie. All that has been confirmed is that Brad Pitt will be returning as Gerry Lane.
