Check Out the World's Fastest Runner — Backwards
We've all seen the drama created by a race. The dash for the finish line, the leaning forward to touch the tape, and the intensity. Now how about such a scene backwards?
Meet Garret Doherty of Dublin, Ireland. Doherty is reportedly the fastest runner in the world … who goes backwards. Actually, the official term is "retro-running."
Doherty has stated that he began running backwards in 2009 as a way of dealing with the issue of having the sun hit his eyes. Years later, he's a pro.
He was briefly featured on Caters TV, which noted the looks he gets from the locals when he plies his athletic craft.
Uploaded on Jan. 6, the video has already gotten over 9,000 hits and over 80 likes. Maybe inspiring a new generation to surge backwards to victory.
