Wrestlemania 33 Rumors: Fans Speculate on a Hardy Boyz Comeback Next Month
With barely a week left before World Wide Entertainment, Inc. kicks off its 33rd Wrestlemania event, rumors are spreading that brothers Jeff and Matt Hardy, aka The Hardy Boyz or The Hardys, might be making a comeback during the said event.
The Hardys started out their careers in the indie scene and then came to WWE way back in 1998 until they decided to part ways with the entertainment company in 2010. After leaving the premises of WWE, the two clinched contracts at Total Nonstop Action Wrestling until the end of last month. Shortly after, they reportedly signed a month-long agreement with Ring of Honor Wrestling.
According to Sportskeeda, the Hardys are not in good terms with TNA when they left due to disputes over the ownership of the "Broken" characters' brand that debuted while the Hardys were still with TNA last August 2016. As the name suggests, the on-screen bond of the wrestlers-slash-brothers went through a rocky time and a fight between the two ensued in the TNA ring.
Recently, WWE posted a throwback video referring to the recent widely famous branding that the Hardys established. WWE's official Twitter page made reference to "Broken" while helping fans recall an earlier intense fight between the brothers back in Wrestlemania 25.
There have also been several rumors suggesting that the short contract of the Hardys with ROH can actually pave the way for their comeback to the WWE ring.
Inquisitr notes that the Hardy Boyz, however, still have one big tag team title fight on ROH against the Young Bucks at the SuperCard of Honor XI event on Saturday, April 1. But fans also need to keep in mind that the said ROH event will take place in Lakeland, Florida which is just 45 minutes away from Orlando where Wrestlemania 33 is going to happen.
To many fans, just seeing the Hardys stepping back into the WWE ring during its biggest event for the year is exhilarating. However, other rumors will not stop there. Many are also speculating that the best way to launch their return to the WWE is with a surprise fight with the current tag team title holders, The Usos. But this still needs to be confirmed.
Wrestlemania 33 will also feature a fight between The Undertaker and Roman Reigns, plus the much awaited battle between Goldberg and Brock Lesnar at the main event. The pay-per-view event happens on Sunday, April 2, at the Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida.
