'WWE 2K18' News: Players Will Be Given Different Ways to View the Action Onscreen
Different filters can be used to change the way the game is shown
Over the past few weeks and even months, developers have touted how visually superior "WWE 2K18" is to its predecessors.
The character models are expected to be more detailed now. The lighting is better, and even other visual elements that often get overlooked have been improved upon, according to the developers.
While the developers are clearly putting a lot of emphasis on how good the upcoming game will look, they are also going to make it possible for players to see the new offering in some other ways.
For instance, it will be possible for players to take part in some 8-bit action.
YouTuber "Delzinski" recently shared a video that showed how the game will look in those classic 8-bit visuals. And to further increase the nostalgia factor, Ultimate Warrior and Andre the Giant were even featured in the preview match.
Interestingly enough, even though 8-bit graphics were used, it seems like some current-gen features were still included such as the more detailed entrances.
Aside from 8-bit, it appears that players will also be given other graphical options to choose from in "WWE 2K18."
According to a recent report from ComicBook.com, there will apparently be different filters made available to players.
'Black & White' and 'Sepia' filters will make it seem like the matches taking place are from the earliest days of wrestling, while the era-specific filters can be used by fans who want to recreate the matches they loved growing up.
The 'Bad VHS' and 'Vignette' filters could also introduce some unique visual elements.
Unfortunately, it does not seem like special sounds will be made available along with the filters.
Wrestling fans will be able to play around with filters and the other features of "WWE 2K18" as soon as the game is released for the PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on Oct. 17 and for the Nintendo Switch sometime this fall.
