'WWE 2K18' News: Prospective Players Will Need a MicroSD Card to Get the Game for the Nintendo Switch
Players also have to free up 1GB of space on the Switch to download the game
An enormous roster, improved graphics and even upgraded gameplay mechanics are all expected to be included in "WWE 2K18," so it should come as no surprise that the game will be a hefty download.
The sizable download file should not really pose that much of a problem for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One players. However, those planning to get the game for the Nintendo Switch may need to make some preparations.
The listing for the wrestling game posted on Nintendo.com contained the storage space requirements Switch owners will have to meet.
According to the listing, Switch owners will need to secure a microSD card that has at least 32GB of free space available. On top of that, an additional 1GB of memory has to be available on the console itself before "WWE 2K18" can be downloaded.
Switch owners must also insert the microSD card prior to initiating the download.
The storage space requirements for the latest installment of the "WWE 2K" franchise are quite similar to what basketball fans had to meet for the Switch version of "NBA 2K18."
Notably, the microSD card was required for both the digital and physical versions of "NBA 2K18." It is still unclear if the microSD card is needed just for the digital version of the new wrestling game or if the physical edition will require it as well.
In related news, the Nintendo Switch version of the aforementioned wrestling game will only support six characters appearing onscreen at the same time, according to a post on the game's official website. The PC, PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game can support up to eight characters showing up onscreen simultaneously.
An exact release date for the Nintendo Switch version of "WWE 2K18" has not been announced just yet, though it is expected to arrive sometime this fall.
