WWE Big Show Health Updates: Hip Resurfacing Surgery Could End His Career
The injury that Big Show incurred after his brutal Monday Night Raw match against Braun Strowman might cause him to end his WWE career since he has to go through a major hip surgery.
The Big Show, whose real name is Paul Wight, is reportedly suffering from an injury for months already. Yet the damage was aggravated during the Raw event.
The seven-foot pro wrestler was supposedly scheduled to travel to have his hip treated this week, but his procedure had to be postponed until Friday, Sept. 29, due to the aftermath of Hurricane Irma.

In an interview with WWE, the 45-year-old wrestler explained that he had to undergo a hip resurfacing procedure since his latest match against Strowman brought him a traumatic injury.
This could mean that he has to say goodbye to his professional wrestling career for a long time because he needs to go through a series of treatments before he can go back to the ring again.
"It's frustrating as hell to be in the best shape I've been in my career, but that match, I kind of put a lot out on the table and I'm paying the price for it now," Big Show stated. "Going forward, I'm very confident in the medical team that's doing the surgery ... we're gonna go forward from there and see what my options are."
When asked if he was something to say to the WWE fans before his upcoming surgery, Big Show said that he is not regretting what he did in his chosen career even if it will have a major impact in his life. He also expressed his gratitude towards the people that he worked with in the past, including those in the production.
"At this stage in my career, it's about going forward and getting a better quality of life for myself, making sure that I can still function and am not in a lot of pain, and rolling forward and seeing what the next opportunity is for me," he also said.
This will not be the first time that Big Show will have to step out of the wrestling arena. In 2006, he reportedly spent some time away from professional wrestling to heal from the injuries that he sustained from the ECW championship. He decided to return to WWE in 2008 with a big match against former champion Edge and a highly publicized confrontation with boxer Floyd Mayweather.
