WWE News: Seth Rollins speaks on injury, Batista details frustrations with company
World Wrestling Entertainment superstar Seth Rollins spoke in detail about his injury, while former world heavyweight champion Batista continues to air out his frustrations with the company.
In a report by Sports Illustrated, Rollins injured his MCL, ACL and meniscus during a house show in Dublin, Ireland. Deemed out of action for six to nine months, he was forced to vacate the WWE's world heavyweight championship.
In a recent interview with WWE.com, the 29-year old wrestler from Buffalo, Iowa, detailed the extent of how the injury happened.
"I was setting up to do something I've done a million times — flipping over my opponent while he was standing on the second [rope]," Rollins explained. "I landed underneath him and then picked him up for a powerbomb. And for whatever reason, I just landed on the inside of my right foot, instead of flat with my feet and my knee gave."
Without knowing what was going on at the time, Rollins went on to finish the fight, despite the unstable condition of his knee.
"I was able to move around enough to finish the match, hit a Pedigree and get the win," he continued. "Afterwards, I just laid there and [tried to] figure out what was going on. Again, I wasn't in a whole bunch of pain, I just felt like my knee wasn't right. I wasn't really sure of the extent of the damage until the next morning when I got the MRI."
Rollins is currently undergoing rehabilitation for his injured knee.
Meanwhile, former WWE superstar and heavyweight champion Batista continues to air out his grievances with the company. "The Animal" had already left the WWE in 2010 mainly because of creative differences, but did make a return in 2014.
In a report by WrestleZone.com, Batista vented out his frustrations through Twitter.
"The day a WWE cameraman doesn't know your name and addresses you as Mr Cool Strong Dude is the day you realize your career is over. #Today," Batista wrote.
