WWE News 2017: John Cena's Ex-Wife Back in the Headlines After Superstar's Wrestlemania Proposal to Nikki Bella
His wedding with Bella, who said yes after the 16-time World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) world champion popped the question inside the ring in front of thousands of wrestling fans at Wrestlemania, will not be his first.
Cena was married to Elizabeth Huberdeau, who was his high school sweetheart. They tied the knot in July 2009, but the marriage only lasted three years.
As first reported by TMZ five years ago, the wrestling superstar filed for divorce by May 2012 with the process finalized around July of that year.

The site says that Cena's reason for breaking things up with Huberdeau was a home remodelling that was causing "unbearable strife" between the two.
Huberdeau was reportedly caught off guard on Cena's sudden decision to file for divorce. His ex-wife even thought that the wrestler cheated on her.
Huberdeau's attorney Raymond Rafool told TMZ back then that with the tips they have been hearing about what Cena has been up to behind his ex-wife's back during their marriage, they were looking to challenge the prenup.
"We're definitely following up on every lead relative to his being unfaithful before AND after the separation," Rafool told the publication back then.
However, it appears that no leads came up after their efforts with Rafool claiming a month later that "all matters [in the divorce] have been settled and resolved amicably."
The divorce was by no means kept a secret as was actually out in the open. In fact, it was employed as a storytelling element in Cena's feud with The Rock back in 2012 in order to make sense of his loss to his then-rival.
Cena started dating Bella four months after the divorce. After his experience with his ex-wife, the superstar was not all for marriage as revealed in their show, "Total Divas." Obviously, he is over this fear.
Although this won't be Cena's first marriage, it also won't be for his soon-to-be-wife. Bella was also married in secret to her high school sweetheart for three years as well.
