WWE News: Kurt Angle Gears Up for a Comeback

Wrestling legend Kurt Angle is ready to make a huge comeback to the World Wrestling Entertainment stage. Speculations of his return surfaced when he expressed his desire to become an in-ring competitor once again in a recent interview.

According to Forbes, Angle may be the next to follow in the footsteps of other veterans like Brock Lesnar and Goldberg, who recently returned to the WWE ring. He is set to be inducted to the company's 2017 Hall of Fame, as WWE made the announcement last January.

Angle left WWE in 2006 and was active in Total Nonstop Action until 2016. At the moment, he is busy promoting his AngleStrong addiction recovery app, a project he launched to help those who are battling addiction.

In an interview with Ring Rust Radio, Angle said that he was inspired with the public's positive response to Lesnar and Golberg's return. According to him, he would prioritize his own comeback after the Hall of Fame ceremony. He said that the WWE would likely ask him for a physical check up. If he passes, he hopes he will be included in a title match. Being gone for 12 years is no joke, but Angle said WWE gives credit to the veterans and doesn't just put them on opening card matches.

Although nothing has been confirmed yet, the wrestler said he has been working hard to be ready just in case the call from the company comes through.

"I expect that if I do wrestle, so I'm looking forward to it. I've kept my body in great shape. I've been wrestling the Indies with great talents like Del Rio, Cody Rhodes and Rey Mysterio just to keep my body in shape in case WWE does call me, I'll be ready to go," Angle said in the interview.

Meanwhile, Alexa Bliss has regained the crown and is the current SmackDown Women's Champion after beating opponent Becky Lynch. The title was up for grabs after Naomi was forced to hand over her belt following a serious knee injury. According to Fox Sports, her doctors told her she needed to rest for the next 30 days. Many of her fans were disappointed since it was the first ever championship belt for the female wrestler. Naomi was supposed to defend her title in WrestleMania 33 to be held in Orlando.
