WWE Rumors: Daniel Bryan responds to 'wrestling is fake'
World Wrestling Entertainment superstar Daniel Bryan has responded to a new wave of "wrestling is fake" comments being made.
One of the most notable recent ones came from UFC president Dana White. According to a report by MMA Mania, the brash-talking company executive engaged in a Twitter feud with a fan, calling professional wrestling "fake sh*t."
"I wish I could watch the Rousey fight tmrw night," Twitter user Tyler Boo Boo Child wrote, referring to the UFC 190 card that happened that weekend. "Vince got you beat there @danawhite. "Our PPV's are only $9.99."
In response, White had this to say.
"I hear u bro but fake shit should be 9.99," the UFC president wrote back. The argument between the two continued a little bit more, with White ending the conversation stating that it was "fake." Naturally, it did draw the ire of many professional wrestling fans.
White did respond to clarify his comments, but did so in his trademark manner. "Listen, try to do anything today without pissing people off," White said in a September report by WrestleZone. "Try it. I mean anything you say people get mad, you just gotta not care and I don't care."
"You literally just have to get to the point where you just don't care who gets mad and that's that's that's how I am," he adds.
While many people showed anger towards White's comments, one particular WWE talent saw things a different way. Superstar Daniel Bryan spoke to NDTV to respond to all the "fake" remarks.
"You know how in art, there's this term, postmodernism, and it's basically, art for entertainment? I think we've become a little like that," Bryan explained. "I mean, everyone starts to knowingly say, 'it's fake, it's fake,' and then the word 'entertainment' comes into our name, and I think that the audience doesn't react the same way – you see something amazing, and you go, 'yeah, that's just a part of the script'."
