WWE Rumors: John Cena Fighting The Miz and Maryse With Nikki Bella?; Erick Rowan Returning

The world of wrestling is as filled with drama as it is with action. And according to the latest rumors surrounding the WWE, John Cena and Samoa Joe were supposed to go head-to-head at Wrestlemania.

The rumor apparently stems from a video that the WWE itself posted on YouTube. The video, which lasts for about a minute, recounted Cena and Samoa Joe's careers from the beginning. Before long, fans started to speculate that Samoa Joe was supposedly going to face Cena in the ring.

After debuting in the main roster at the Royal Rumble in 2017, Samoa Joe was reportedly set to challenge Cena. The two heavyweights were allegedly going to fight at the Show of Immortals, where Samoa Joe was intended to win over Cena, who is set to take an eight-month break from WWE after Wrestlemania.

For whatever reason, the plan was scrapped. Now, Cena is expected to face The Miz and Maryse with Nikki Bella as his partner. However, nothing is certain at this point. Cena himself did not give away any spoilers when he was asked about it.

"I don't pitch ideas, I don't go and say, 'This is what I would like to do.' I've had tremendous success in being a versatile poker player, if that's a good analogy," Cena told Sports Illustrated. "I get my hand told to me, and I play it the best I possibly can."

In other news, rumors have also been circulating that wrestling star Erick Rowan may be returning to the ring in no time. It can be recalled that Rowan had to be operated on in October 2016 because of a torn rotator cuff. However, according to Pro Wrestling Sheet, his doctors have apparently given him the go-ahead to wrestle again. Rowan even took to his Twitter account to share a video that sparked speculations of his return.
