WWE Rumors: Neville to Quit WWE Following Walkout on Monday's Raw Episode?
Rumor has it that Neville is departing WWE, but multiple recent reports are debunking the claim. Speculations about Neville's departure started with Ryan Satin's report for Pro Wrestling Sheet on Wednesday night, which said that "there does seem to be some truth in that claim" of Neville's alleged release from the WWE.
On Monday's episode of Raw, the former cruiserweight champion walked out before the show and reportedly asked for his release from the entertainment company. Although Satin was not able to confirm the information, he reported that some unidentified sources had told him that Neville was supposed to have a Lumberjack Match with Enzo Amore that night but had changed his plans.
According to Satin, the episode was initially planned to feature Neville's loss to Enzo. However, the match was suddenly changed to Kalisto vs. Enzo, with Kalisto bagging the Cruiserweight Championship. This reportedly prompted Neville to walk out of the ring.
Following Satin's report, another news outlets reported that Neville's behavior on Monday night's Raw signaled his impending release from the WWE, with some even saying that his future with the company is "up in the air." However, WWE denied the rumors and announced that Neville isn't quitting the business.
Right now, Neville has not yet released any official statement on his WWE career plans, so fans should take recent rumors with a grain of salt. However, if he indeed ends up quitting, it will be the Cruiserweight Division's second loss in three months. It can be recalled that back in July, the division also lost Austin Aries.
Throughout his career, Neville has dominated his division and bagged two Cruiserweight Championships, earning him the title "King of Cruiserweights." After dropping the title to Enzo at No Mercy, he forfeited a title match and attacked Amore on one episode of Raw.
