WWE Rumors: The End of an Era as Roman Reigns Takes Over for John Cena

The latest in the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) rumor mill suggests that John Cena is set to take more than just a lengthy hiatus from the company.

Cena is not set to appear at the Tables, Ladders and Chairs (TLC) next month. In fact, rumor has it that he will not be back in the WWE ring until next year for the Royal Rumble.

Cageside Seats, however, said that he is being advertised for the Survivor Series this November, but is not expected to be fully back in the game until next year.

The Cenation Leader Cena is taking some time off from WWE to film the upcoming "Transformers" movie "Bumblebee." Brian Goldner, one of the executive producers for the project, is adamant Cena shies away from wrestling while filming.

Cena's extensive break also apparently pushed WWE to advance its plans for the company's current main man to pass the torch to the next.

This is why at No Mercy, he lost to Roman Reigns fair and square. This is apparently The Big Dog's step up as the new face of WWE, succeeding the man who did the job for 15 years.

The feud between the two appears to have been settled at the pay-per-view event despite the huge moneymaking potential it had, per Forbes.

This is not only because Cena will be gone for a while for the filming, but also, according to the abovementioned publication, because he is close to retiring.

That being said, fans should not expect the Cena and Reigns feud to go on. Per Cageside Seats, it is a one-and-done deal meant to bring The Big Dog to the top of the hierarchy.

Interestingly, despite his rise to the ranks, Reigns is expected to reunite with Shield brothers and Tag Team champions Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose at the TLC event where they will take on The Miztourage.
