WWE Rumors: Who Will Current Universal Champion Brock Lesnar Face Next?

Lesnar recently defended his title successfully against Braun Strowman

Current WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar is as dominant as ever, scoring big win after big win and showing no signs that he is anywhere close to being dethroned.

Tough as the task of beating Lesnar for the championship may be, there will still be challengers lining up for the opportunity to do so, and it is time to figure out which Superstar should get the next crack at the champ.

The first candidate is Braun Strowman.

It is true that Strowman already had his chance at Lesnar recently and came up short, but that does not necessarily mean he should exit the title picture right away.

Strowman is still one of the top acts in the WWE today, someone who fans are excited to see on a weekly basis. Still, fans would probably prefer not to see Strowman lose to Lesnar again in such a short amount of time, and the folks at the WWE would probably be better served to continue keeping him strong.

Strowman-Lesnar II for the title is a possibility, but the odds are not really in its favor.

The next candidate who could challenge Lesnar is Roman Reigns.

Reigns recently notched a big win himself by defeating John Cena, so he has all the momentum in the world heading into a potential clash with Lesnar.

Reigns and Lesnar could very well end up standing across from one another in the ring, but rumors have hinted that next year may be the time for that. Reigns-Lesnar has a chance to be at least somewhat intriguing, but WWE may opt to save that for next year's "WrestleMania."

The third and most likely candidate to take on Lesnar next is Finn Balor.

Balor was actually the first man to hold the Universal title, and the only reason he lost it was because of an injury. As Cageside Seats pointed out, Balor himself even mentioned on a recent episode of "Monday Night RAW" that he wants the title back.

Balor is trapped in the midcard right now, but it would not take a lot to build him up for a main event program.

A Balor-Lesnar match would actually be something different, and there is a chance that wrestling fans may see it sooner rather than later.

More news about the latest WWE rumors should be made available in the near future.
