'WWE WrestleMania 33' Match Cancelled: Former NBA Star Claims It's Not His Fault

What would've been the biggest match in World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) history may have just been cancelled just months before the big event.

Talks of the possible cancellation of the highly anticipated crossover match between Shaquille O'Neal and Big Show in the upcoming "WrestleMania 33" began last week after the WWE shared an interview with Big Show, wherein the professional wrestler called O'Neal out for allegedly not stepping up. He also went on to say that this could the last time he would ever participate in "WrestleMania," and that he's doing all this "as a favor to Shaq."

"I get it. He's a busy man. But if he's gonna step in the ring, in my business, at our biggest event of the year? Show me you're serious. If anything, talk a little trash. Let me know you're motivated. Because right now? I just get the feeling he's terrified," Big Show said.

For his part, O'Neal has also shared his side of the matter via the latest episode of his podcast show. The NBA Hall of Famer also hinted at the showdown possibly being cancelled and claimed that it would not be his fault when it fails to go through.

"It's not totally off yet, but it's not looking good," O'Neal said, adding that it didn't matter whether or not the match happens. "I'm still working out and I still look better than Big Show," he added.

The two 7-foot athletes initially came face-to-face in the ring last year at the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal, then again at the 2016 ESPY Awards, which was when Big Show officially challenged O'Neal to a "WrestleMania" match.

In a recent interview with Sporting News, Big Show said that he was still hoping for the issue to be resolved before the big event comes around.

"It's between Shaq and WWE. Whatever their situation is, who knows?"

"WrestleMania 33" will be held on Sunday, April 2, at the Orlando Citrus Bowl.
