Wynonna Judd Wants a 'Simple and Barefoot' Wedding
Wynonna Judd has opened up about the details of her upcoming wedding saying it will be "barefoot and fun."
The country music star is engaged to musician Cactus Moser who proposed on Christmas Eve. Judd explained the theme of their ceremony will be "simple and sweet" while speaking to People magazine.
"I've been to so many events and done so many push-up bras and sparkles and hairspray," said the 47-year-old while at the Steve Chase Humanitarian Awards in Palm Springs on Saturday.
"I just want to be free and have fun," continued the singer. "So I don't know. Something simple and sweet." The five-time Grammy Award winner noted that she is slowing things down in her life.
"It's time for me to stop the car, take out the map and see where I'm headed," she explained. "So I'm just gonna live and enjoy everyday being engaged and getting married."
The couple is eying dates this fall for the small wedding because "it's not a sweaty time for brides," said Judd.
Judd described herself as "a work in progress" after having lost more than 50 pounds and publicly admitting a "severe dependency" on food. Of her husband-to-be, Judd said, "We've known each other 25 years and I'm living proof that there's hope."
Judd first rose to fame alongside her mother, Naomi, as the duo The Judds. The duo released seven albums and charted 26 singles before disbanding in 1991.
Judd struck out on her own and along her solo career has released eight studio albums. She is best known for her singles, "She Is His Only Need," "I Saw the Light," and "No One Else on Earth."
The singer was presented with a star on the Music City Walk of Fame in 2007, and she has been recognized for her work as a humanitarian and a philanthropist.
Her younger half-sister is actress Ashley Judd.
