'X-Men News: 'X-Men Apocalypse' May Not Be the End
Bryan Singer's "X-Men: Apocalypse" is soon hitting theaters and is expected to be the biggest X-Men movie to date, as it marks the end of the "X-Men: First Class" trilogy. However, when all seems to come to an end, it seems the studio plans to continue on.
According to Screen Rant, it seems that Bryan Singer will direct another film after "Apocalypse," and production is said to take place once more in Montreal, where the past X-Men movies have been filmed. This is the third film in the series to be shot in Montreal.
JDM reports that Michel Trudel, head of Mel's Studio in Montreal, recently sealed a deal for another movie shot in their Montreal production base. Tudel, shares, "It was a miracle that we managed to attract a movie X-Men in Montreal in 2013. To convince Fox to return for a second and now a third is simply amazing… It's always great news for our industry when we welcome this kind of production. We talk about films which have budgets of more than $ 200 million. A big production like X-Men generates direct and indirect economic benefits of hundreds of millions of dollars and makes work more than 2,000 Québec technicians."
Moreover, one of the rumors going around is that if the studio does decide to continue on, it will more likely focus on a new set of mutants. Given that the X-Men universe is wide enough for endless character and story line possibilities, there is no doubt that fans can expect that the "mystery" Marvel movie will still be like no other.
There is no release date or other details confirmed, but the planned X-Men movie might be taking the July 13, 2018 release date, which has been left unfilled after a reshuffling in Fox's schedule. For now, fans can look forward to "X-Men: Apocalypse," which hits theaters on May 27, 2016.
